Announces PartnershipWith VNA Care Network, Inc.
EDEN PRAIRIE, MN, January 23, 2002—
American TeleCare, Inc. (ATI) today announced a partnership with
VNA Care Network, Inc. The two organizations will be working together
on building a telehomecare program with future plans of interfacing
to VNA Care Network’s clinical information system. VNA Care
Network purchased 35 AVIVA™ XR1010 patient stations.
According to Barbara Brooks, vice president
of clinical services for VNA Care Network, “We looked at several
different systems but we wanted to make sure we picked one with
best practices. American TeleCare, Inc. had the quality we needed,
along with a good reputation and years of experience; all of which
were very important. In addition, we were looking for ease of use,
which is very important when dealing with the elderly and in training
our staff. If it’s complicated, they won’t use it,”
she said.
“American TeleCare is pleased to add
VNA Care Network to our list of partners,” said Thomas M.
Rootness, CEO of American TeleCare, Inc. “They’re implementing
telemedicine into their day to day service offering and we’re
confident that this will help them extend the care of their existing
congestive heart failure program.” he said.
VNA Care Network is a nonprofit home health
care, hospice, and wellness provider serving more than 200 communities
in eastern and central Massachusetts.
A pioneer in the concept of home telemedicine,
American TeleCare, Inc. guides its business partners in the development
of telehomecare programs. The company currently markets the AVIVA™
System; an FDA-cleared telemedicine monitoring system that incorporates
live audio/video with integrated electronic medical peripherals
to allow a doctor or nurse to conduct remote assessments of patients
in their homes. The products are very easy to use, and operate through
a standard telephone line. For more information, visit www.americantelecare.com.
