| Appoints Michael O’Sullivan,
M.D. to its Board of Directors
Industry Veteran to Assist in
Driving Growth, Creating Linkages
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn., October 8, 2002 –
American TeleCare, Inc. (ATI) a leader in telemedicine solutions,
announced that Michael O’Sullivan, M.D. has joined its Board
of Directors.
Dr. O’Sullivan, the latest executive
to join American TeleCare’s Board of Directors, was most recently
Chair of the Board of Governors at Mayo Clinic Scottsdale. Dr. O’Sullivan’s
background includes 27 years as a physician leader at Mayo Clinic
Rochester prior to moving to Scottsdale in 1997 to lead the Scottsdale
Clinic. He led the development of Mayo Medical Laboratories, Mayo’s
thriving national and international reference laboratory operation,
with operating results in excess of $120 million, generating income
to benefit research and education. Dr. O’Sullivan was the
first physician leader of Mayo Medical Ventures, the health information
and technology transfer arm of Mayo. From 1992 to 1997, he led the
development of the regional Mayo Health System in Minnesota, Wisconsin
and Iowa that now includes almost 400 physicians and eight hospitals
in 42 communities.
In addition to serving in leadership positions
on more than 25 Mayo committees, he also served 13 years as a member
of the Mayo Foundation Board of Trustees, and two terms on the Mayo
Clinic Rochester Board of Governors. Dr. O’Sullivan has extensive
experience in several national professional organizations and is
a past president of the Academy of Clinical Laboratory Physicians
and Scientists. Dr. O’Sullivan has been active in his local
communities, and is an armed forces veteran, having served in the
U.S. Air Force.
Dr. O’Sullivan said, “I became
