C.A. Lance Piccolo and Michele Hooper to Board of Directors
EDEN PRAIRIE, MN, November 25, 2003 — American
TeleCare, Inc. (ATI) a leader in telemedicine solutions, announced
today that C.A.
Lance Piccolo and Michele Hooper have joined its board of directors.
Piccolo, president and chief executive officer of HealthPic Consultants,
Inc., is widely regarded as a pioneer in building strategic healthcare
businesses and has a strong vision of how the healthcare market
is evolving. Previously, Piccolo was chairman of the board and
chief
executive officer of Caremark International, Inc. (NYSE: CMX),
a provider of physician practice management, pharmacy benefit management
and disease management services. He currently serves on several
boards
of directors, including Crompton Corporation (NYSE:CK), Caremark
Rx, Inc. (NYSE:CMX), NovaMed Eyecare Inc. (NYSE:NOVA) and Benchmark
Medical, Inc. Piccolo is a member of the board of trustees of the
University of Chicago Hospitals and the Kellogg Graduate School
of Management advisory board of Northwestern University. He has
a bachelor's
degree in science from Boston University.
Hooper is former president and chief executive officer of Voyager
Expanded Learning, Inc. In 1998, she was appointed president and
chief executive officer of Stadtlander Drug Company, Inc. a provider
of disease-specific pharmaceutical care, targeted at high risk,
high-cost, chronic medical conditions such as HIV/AIDS and organ
transplantation.
Prior to joining Stadtlander, Hooper was corporate vice president
of Caremark International, Inc. (NYSE: CMX), a spin-off of Baxter
International (NYSE: BAX), and president of Caremark's International
Business Group. Hooper began her career at Baxter in 1976 and held
various positions before her appointment in 1984 as vice president,
corporate planning. Hooper currently serves on the corporate boards
of AstraZeneca, PLC (NYSE: AZN), Target Corporation (NYSE: TGT) and
PPG Industries, Inc. (NYSE:PPG) and the advisory boards of L.E.K.
Consulting and Equis Corporation. She also is a board member of the
Center for Disease Control Foundation. She holds a bachelor's
degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania and a masters
of business administration from the University of Chicago.
