New PT/INR Peripheral
EDEN PRAIRIE, MN, October 3, 2003 — American TeleCare, Inc.
(ATI) today announced the addition of a new medical peripheral device,
the ProTime® Microcoagulation System for prothrombin time (PT)
testing. The PT/INR device is offered to manage Coumadin® therapy
for patients using ATI telehealth solutions.
The ProTime System consists of the
ProTime instrument, a 3-channel reagent cuvette with built-in
quality control, and the Tenderlett® Plus
LV sample collection system. The test procedure is simple, and
is the first FDA cleared system for patient self-testing.
The PT/INR peripheral is designed
for use with American TeleCare’s
1010 Video Patient Station and Monitoring Station. ProTime enables
patients to do PT testing at home allowing increased patient independence
in connection with their oral anti-coagulation therapy.
