ProTime PT/INR:
The ProTimeMicrocoagulation System
for prothrombin time testing is designed to safely manage Coumadin® therapy. The ProTime
System consists of the ProTime instrument, the 3-channel reagent
cuvette with built-in quality control, and the Tenderlett® Plus
LV sample collection system. The test procedure is simple, and
performance is comparable to laboratories.
For use with The American TeleCare® Video
Patient Station or Patient Monitoring Station:
- Integrated on-board quality controls
- Sensitive thromboplastin (ISI=1.0)
- Results reported in INR and PT seconds (% Quick can be selected)
- CLIA waived
- Approved for patient self-testing. Allows for more frequent
testing for better control and fewer complications.
ProTime enables
your patients to do prothrombin time (PT) testing at home. This
test is done to check the status of their oral anti-coagulation
therapy. Results are reported in both INR and PT seconds. The reagents
(substances that are used to run the test) are inside the specially
designed cuvette. Just a drop and a half of blood and a fresh cuvette
are needed to run the test. No measuring or mixing blood or reagents
- ProTime does it all for you in the convenience of your patient's
home.

Many insurance companies will pay for your ProTime
System. They too want to keep patients out of the hospital. A few
examples of patients who are at high risk for bleeding or clotting
complications include:
Patients who:
- Have taken anti-coagulation therapy for a long period of time
- Are managed with high intensity therapy (patients with a mechanical
heart valve)
- Experienced bleeding or clotting complications in the past
- Fluctuate widely in their response to anticoagulation therapy
